#HealThySelf Challenge – Day 2
DEAL WITH THE BROKENNESS
To be wounded in life is common as we are all imperfect human beings, but what seems to be uncommon is that people are reluctant to deal with the repercussions of open wounds. To keep it plain, one must deal with the broken pieces that manifest every time that you are hurt emotionally or spiritually. When you ignore your brokenness, you become dangerous to yourself and others. Why dangerous? Because to neglect your brokenness is to say that you’re not worthy enough to get it fixed. It is to say that you do not find importance in being in a healthy state. When you don’t value your own health how on earth are you capable of valuing the worth of someone else?!
Step Two: DEAL WITH IT!
This step is a completely personal preference in the method for which you decide to fix your brokenness. In this step you make a decision to simply deal with your brokenness and no longer allow yourself to remain in a broken state. Trust me when I tell you that it may not have been your fault that your are even broken, but it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY moving forward to get the brokenness fixed. The bottom line is that YOU CAN’T IGNORE YOUR BROKENNESS, but YOU MUST DEAL WITH IT! The process and progress of how the brokenness gets fixed can be dealt with later.
Look at it this way… when a person has broken their leg, you cannot walk circumspect until you go get the broken leg fixed. Simply ignoring the fact that it is broken will not make the issue go away even if after some time you have adjusted to the pain and limp to walk. Healing is necessary and the only way it is fully achieved is by dealing with the fact that it is even broken. Am I making sense?
So, on the second day’s journey to #HealThySelf, your CHALLENGE is to:
– Deal with EVERY BROKEN PLACE in your life. Acknowledge the fact that it needs to be fixed and you deserve it to be fixed. Admission of brokenness is a big step, but taking it further to begin the process of repair is the crux to complete healing.
#HealThySelf Prayer for the Broken
God, I am not whole. I am broken. I recognize now that I have adjusted to or even ignored the places in my life that you have called for me to give to You for repair. Help me to trust You with my broken pieces. Help me to be vulnerable and obedient to Your process to fix my brokenness. In You I have chosen to be whole and healed. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
