#HealThySelf Challenge – Day 7
FEEL THE PAIN
I will preach this until I can’t anymore… IT IS OKAY TO FEEL! You are not a robot and God gave you feelings for a reason. I wholeheartedly believe that you cannot truly get over pain until you feel it for real. When tragedy hits you, do not respond as though you are some superhero, but allow yourself to feel hurt, pain, guilt, shame, anger, disappointment. Your healing is just behind your feelings.
Step Seven: FEEL it!
Another step that actually hurts… however you feel about what has happened to you needs to be dealt with. However, you cannot deal with what you do not engage. I dare you to actually feel… at least one more time, if not for the first time. My only words of wisdom to you is to NOT GET STUCK THERE!
So, on the seventh day’s journey to #HealThySelf, your CHALLENGE is to:
– Take a risk and FEEL YOUR FEELINGS. This is a necessary step in the healing process. You’ve got to feel in order to deal and then heal.
#HealThySelf Prayer for the Numb
God, I have operated in a state of numbness for too long. Wearing masks of strength, pride, apathy, etc. to disguise my real pain. I cannot fool You and I no longer want to fool myself. Guide me through this pain so that I am not lost in it. Help me be courageous enough to trust You with my feelings. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
